Our Story
People for the Elimination of Animal Cruelty through Education (PEACE ☮️ ) is an inclusive club at UC Davis for all those interested in vegan and plant-based lifestyles. As a community, we strive to bring awareness to the public consciousness the health, ethical, and environmental impact we each have with our everyday choices. We hold social, advocacy, and educational events throughout the year. Through our action steps and on campus projects, PEACE strives to implement positive and sustainable change at UC Davis.
PEACE was founded at UC San Diego in 2010 by Alissa Utter. It was adopted to the UC Davis campus in 2013 by Tess Sober. PEACE at UC Davis is close affiliates with COOL Cuisine, the City of Davis' plant-based community and UC Davis student and community group Free Davis Primates. PEACE at UC Davis has a PETA 2 student representative. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) sponsor some of PEACE Club's events, provide free samples, pamphlets, stickers, and support.
